Information

Hi dear everyone, As many of you may have seen, I have moved to America for a whole year to live my dream. I have been given the chance to focus fully on the sport of Triathlon. Training hard, doing Ironmans, running the 7 Majors... so many wonderful opportunities that I can now seize with both hands. It is very different from home and of course it was strange to leave my friends and family behind and give up my job and apartment; it is no small thing... but I know and I feel that I have to grab this with both hands, so that is what I have done. For instance, I no longer have complete control over the race schedule myself; I have handed my "agenda" over to my coach. So if something special comes up or a new race that I know "I am going to do," I will definitely add it to the race calendar on my blog. And I will certainly keep track of everything, so are you curious? All reports will be kept up to date on this blog, but the "behind the scenes" footage will appear on my Instagram page and here and there some vlogs on my YouTube channel!

Will you become part of our team?

For our 1% Better team, we are always looking for fun, sociable, and motivated guides. Why? You wouldn't know it by looking at us, but our team includes athletes with intellectual disabilities. Down syndrome, autism, or like myself, for whom there is no name for my disability, but where it is definitely present. To pursue our dreams and show the world our message "1% Better everyday" (becoming 1% better every day than yesterday), and also to show that we can do this too and participate fully in this society. An example of why I need a guide for my Ironman... purely for safety. I have epilepsy, so stress is a huge trigger, and swimming in the ocean alone, for example, is not safe due to the waves. But also, due to my intellectual disability, I cannot accurately estimate distances, time, days, or when to take medication and nutrition... that is difficult. We already have a number of great people on our team who guide athletes during the race; ultimately, we do it ourselves, but without them, it wouldn't be possible to achieve our results. So, if you're thinking "oh, that sounds cool to do the races together" or "I'm curious now?", get in touch via the button below! And you don't just have to be good at Triathlon; you might also be able to swim, cycle, or run. Think of... Marathons, or transitions between Ironmans. That another guide swims, and you handle the cycling or running part, for example. Want to know more? Get in touch via the button below!
